Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Rooms can fall short of expectations — One guest reported a room change that resulted in noise, heat, and an uncomfortable bed, suggesting variability in room quality.
  • Breakfast may not be included — At least one guest found breakfast excluded from the rate, which surprised them given the room price.
  • Price relative to class — Some guests feel the nightly rate is high for a 3-star property, even if the design and comfort are acceptable.
  • Limited room categories for solo travelers — The basic single room lacks some amenities like a bathtub or coffee machine, so preferences may require booking up.

“The room was clean and modern. Staff were attentive and helped with getting around the city, offering useful info on local sights. The location was handy for the train station and cultural spots like the Prado and Reina Sofia.”

“The receptionist, Miss Adela, was very kind at first, confirming our request for three rooms on the same floor with single beds. Two rooms were not ready, so we left our bags and came back in the late afternoon: one room had been moved to another floor and had a double bed instead of twins. The evening staff was less pleasant, saying it wasn't worth complaining for one night. That substitute room was noisy, too warm, and the bed was uncomfortable. The next day, Miss Adela apologized sincerely, noting she had booked us as requested and didn't know why the change happened. She gave us great tips on where to eat and walk. Adela was the best part of the hotel.”

“Rooms were tidy and modern, with a good bathroom featuring a bathtub. Incredible location a couple of blocks from a sprawling museum, next to eateries and bars.”

“Note: I am not Carmina, but her husband José Garriga. At €147 per night, breakfast was NOT included, and I mistakenly assumed it was. I wasn't going to pay those inflated hotel prices. Comfort and design were okay for a 3-star, but not worth the price. The area is the best for exploring Madrid.”

8.3Verified guest

“Functional, hip new property with attentive, excellent staff and good customer service. Fine for one night.”

“Exceptionally comfortable bed, quiet and compact room with a mini fridge, climate control, and a safe. Great view of the courtyard. Very central location, near a tower and a palace.”
